I wrote the developer documentation that helps developers create apps for Facebook's Free Basics Platform.
Internet.org is Facebook's initiative to bring internet access and the benefits of connectivity to the parts of the world that don't have them. Internet.org recently launched the Free Basics Platform, a digital platform that allowed local developers to create their own apps for Internet.org. This launch meant that newly-connected people in areas like India and Central Africa could now access websites from developers in their own region, giving them access to the online content they need most.
