The unsanctioned running races were in need of an identity for their 2019 summer series. The goal of these races was to strip it down and bring it back to its roots of what they were really about; community.
With their motto of “It takes a village” in mind, I came up with 3 logos to work separately and together. Hand signals representing the phrase “Ready, set, go!”, a simple typeface, and gritty textures were used to evoke the authenticity that is the New York running community. These graphics were printed on bandanas and t-shirts to be sold and printed live at the races, further accentuating the bare bones spirit of these events.
