Stem Learning Exchange Website

Stem Learning Exchange is a resource repository run by the Illinois Science & Technology Institute, a nonprofit organization that facilitates scientific collaboration between students and industry leaders. The Stem Learning Exchange site is a repository of programs, internships, events, curricula, and resources available to students and teachers interested in hands-on STEM research experiences.

The challenge for this site was primarily in the categorization of the resources. We worked with R&D STEM and spoke to teachers and students to determine the best way to collect, organize, and present the available resources. New companies and resources are added regularly through a content management system with an approval process. Search and organization was a key factor in this design. We organized the site into two sections: the resources for educators and the programs and resources for youth interested in learning more about STEM careers.
