As the Head of Content and Audience Development for Clean Plates, I oversaw a total site redesign, including all content, site design, layout, and illustrations. Visually, the site moved away from an older model with a single-focus homepage and too much negative space to a more dynamic model with several featured stories. The illustrations were also modernized and given a more site-specific perspective. In terms of content, we integrated an SEO strategy, and also increased the quality and length of the stories. During my tenure, each story that took a stance on a medical issue required interviews with at least two professionals in the field (usually MDs), and we also focused on creating stories around data-driven subject matter with click-worthy headlines.
