After taking ownership of the books & literature vertical of an indie digital magazine, I undertook both macro and micro new directions to increase the area's ROI in terms of traffic, audience, social media drama and potential for monetization. + I developed a new stable of freelancers to cover a broader range of work more consistently + I built out a database of current and forthcoming releases to share with writers in order to invite more pitches and develop more content + Built a branded storefront on Bookshop to mirror editorial content in this area and increase affiliate sales + Reached out and developed a relationship with primary third-party affiliate partner Bookshop to promote book lists and affiliate shopping content + Worked with business director to create a new pitch deck of specialized offerings in this area combining paid branded content and social promotion, quickly making literary clients the most consistent form of advertising income + Worked with development team to build a custom content block specifically for showcasing book recommendations with a one-click buying feature to optimize both the browsing experience and ease of making an affiliate purchase
