Escher Relativity

In order to motivate our way of understanding spaces, perspective, and the use of abstract elements within a visual narrative; we proposed the exercise of an imaginary environment using a three-dimensional representation. The study of the work of the artist M.C. Escher is for us, one of the most fascinating and enriching ways to achieve this; resulting in a project that tries to honor one of his best known works.

Relativity is a lithography created in 1953 by the Dutch artist, in which he explores some of the concepts developed in his works: imaginary perspectives, impossible geometries, and in this case, an architecture that does not seem to have North or South established. In Relativity, Escher represents and narrates with mastery the essence of the principle: "man is the measure of all things", in which the truths that exist for each of the individuals represented, can only be valid in each particular circumstance. Who climbs a ladder, is actually lowering it, from the perspective of someone other than him.
