Vice News - Design direction

As Design Director at Vice News, I worked closely with the EVP of news, CD, and fellow Design Director to build an integrated design system across TV and web platforms—ensuring brand consistency, high journalistic standards, and fast story throughput—enabling multiple teams to publish visual content throughout the day and deliver 25 minutes of graphics-rich video to HBO every weeknight.

I designed ViceNews.com, working with the Editor in Chief and GM to supervise the build and launch of the platform.

Along the way, I co-managed an award-winning team of art directors, animators, graphic designers, and illustrators.

We generated lots of content. I scripted, storyboarded, directed, designed, and animated graphics-driven news stories and recurring visual formats for TV, web, and social channels.

For the Verse Chorus Bridge series, I art directed, designed, and animated music graphics for 30 interviews with artists breaking down new songs.
